These three letters are now a given in today's society, but we don't often think about how it works. Well, that's what this course is all about, right? Please complete the following tasks:
  1. Outline the way that a GPS receiver determines its location.

  2. How many GPS satellites:
    • Are orbiting the earth?
    • Are usually accessible to a GPS receiver at any given time?
    • Are required to pinpointa receiver's position?

  3. Investigate some of the current uses of GPS, and evaluate its usefulness to each of these situations.

  4. Discuss the social and ethical issues raised by the existence of GPS, with reference to actual events and news articles to support your discussion points.
