10IPT: Work Day!

As you're (hopefully!) aware, there is no exam for IPT this term. Instead, we've been working on a series of several smaller assessments that combine together. One of the things I learnt from doing this for the past couple of years is that it can make term 1 feel very rushed - you're constantly going from one task to the next, and also learning new content, with hardly a chance to breathe. And that's not a good thing!

So in view of all this, I'm going to devote today's entire double period to just that: having a chance to breathe. To stop, look back and review, and get your bearings straight for the weeks to come. Here are a few ideas for what to do:
  • Look back over the last few lessons and make sure you are up-to-date with all the assigned tasks. You might find this index of all our HSC classwork to be useful.
  • Read the Round 3 articles and start to compose your two responses. (If you worked hard you could even complete both of those today, and then not have to think about this until next week when Round 4 starts.)
  • Get brainstorming on your major project (assessment outline up for download, marking rubric coming soon) and start laying down a schedule for yourself to get everything completed on time. Perhaps the hardest part for you is coming up with the mystery - let me give you a little more inspiration!
