We're continuing our look at the devices and media that are involved in the storing and retrieving process. Hard drives, DVDs, RAM and the like - they all do their job without us paying attention, but there is much to learn about these humble pieces of hardware! Please complete the following tasks:
  1. Describe the three primary characteristics of storing and retrieving hardware.
  2. Consider the examples of computer-based storing and retrieving hardware from yesterday, and describe each in terms of the three characteristics.
  3. Explain the difference between standby, hibernation and shut down with regard to how storing and retrieving hardware is used differently in each case.
