Today we'll look at the different ways that numerical data can be organised - and the interesting problems that has created! Please complete the following tasks:
  1. Outline the various methods for organising numerical data.

  2. Explain what "salami fraud" is and how it relates to the way numerical data is organised.

  3. The following tasks relate to "Y2K".
    • Describe the Y2K Bug and how it relates to the organising process.
    • Identify some of the problems that analysts were anticipating due to the bug, and compare these with the problems that actually did occur on 1 January 2000.
    • Describe the actions taken by governments and private organisations in preparation for Y2K.
    • Discuss the social and ethical issues raised by the Y2K Bug.
