...and now onto the third! In some ways, this is the most vital of all the processes, since no I.S. is much use if its products are meaningless to people (i.e. data and not information).

Take notes from our class discussion and then complete the tasks below in a new classwork post.
  1. Define analysis.
  2. Identify the three essential pieces of hardware required for data analysis, and outline their distinct roles in the process.
  3. Read through the following data analysis of Twitter. (a) What kinds of data analysis did the author perform? (b) Which do you think is the most useful or interesting piece of information in the article?
  4. Read through this article on data analysis as a research field. (a) What reasons are given for the importance of data analysis? (b) What examples are provided of areas where data analysis is useful?
  5. Describe the ways in which data analysis relate to this situation.
