CS Technical Details

posted Dec 10, 2009, 12:41 PM by Eddie Woo
We said at the start of this topic that the main process we would be focusing on was transmitting & receiving. We're now going to look at some of the technical details involved in communications systems. If you're keeping track, on the original system framework diagram I gave you, we're now basically putting a magnifying glass on the transmission level.

In your notes, make the following headings:
  • Serial vs. Parallel
  • Synchronous vs. Asynchronous
  • Simplex, Half-Duplex & Full-Duplex
After the class discussion, in your notes explain the benefits of each these communications methods. Then, check to see that you are up-to-date with all previous classwork.
