Go get 'em, Year 10.

This message goes out to all the junior students who are sitting exams this week - yearlies are never fun (P.S. writing and marking exams is just as painful as sitting them, and this comes from someone who has done a lot of both). But most of all, this is for my 10IPT class as they face off against their HSC exam tomorrow afternoon. Months of hard work and studying is now coming down to this: three hours of pouring out all you know in one concentrated slab.

Usually at such points people say "good luck" or offer some other well wishes, but I don't believe in luck. I don't think anything happens by accident. Nor do I think you need to in order to have confidence going into the exam. You have prepared well, and you know exactly what to expect going into this paper. You have looked at the past papers and are familiar with the style, layout and content of the questions you will receive. There is nothing to be afraid of.

So, use these last few moments to brace yourself, and make sure your mind and body are in peak condition for tomorrow. Get a good night's sleep - resist staying up late on MSN, even if it is to "study" - eat well, and then go kick some butt. Do me proud. I'll see you on the other side!
