Living up to the name!

The original incarnation of this website really lived up to its name. I suppose that's why I named it the way I named it! It was just a collection of about 25 files that were, for lack of a better word, random. Since the first version of Woo Random Files, though, lots has changed and the focus of the site has changed somewhat. I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with that - I like the new direction that the website has gone in - but I thought I would do something to take the site back towards its roots a little.

It's no secret that I'm a Christian. I don't believe it's right to force your religion on anyone, but I don't believe it's right to hide it either - as if you ought to be ashamed of what what you believe to be true about reality. For that reason I'm pretty public about what - or rather, in whom - I believe.

Something you might not know about me, however, is that I like to write. Particularly, I like to write for the dual purposes of (a) forming my own understanding of concepts, and (b) communicating that understanding to others. In other words, I write to learn and I write to teach. As a Christian, I've written many things over the years in my journey towards understanding how God has revealed himself, principally in the Bible. Some of these writings have been merely personal, and others I have written in order to teach others.

I've gathered some of these writings together on a new section of the website called, surprise surprise, Writings. There's roughly six years worth of content on there, in a variety of forms - at the present, representing close to 200,000 words worth of thought. If you thought your 1,500 word essay assignment was big, think again!

If you want to explore that, then feel free to go ahead. That's what it's there for. 8-)

On a side note, I thought it was high time to update the About page. The main change is that I've significantly re-worded the stated purpose of the website, so head on over and have a read if you're curious about that. Okay everyone, I'm off - have a good weekend!
