Copyright Issues
  • Content is collected from copyrighted sources with a microphone
  • JavaScript to play audio files is obtained and modified from a website with similar functions
  • Various software products are used to process the multimedia
  • Video and audio was compressed using codecs written by others
1. Identify the ways that copyright law applies to each of the above points.
2. Consider the initial writing of a summary of copyright law to enforce the appropriate multimedia content. Describe the principles that such a summary would be required to embody.

Integrity of Source Data
  • Manufacturer's website includes links to external reviews of their products
  • Excerpts and clips are chosen that do not accurately reflect the original source's information or intention
  • Inaccurate data can be portrayed as authoritative and therefore is not questioned
  • Searching for information to explain a particular topic will frequently yield conflicting results even when each result is from a reputable and verifiable source
  • Wikipedia!
3. Identify the issues within each of these situations causing concern with regard to data integrity.
4. Propose strategies to assist in establishing the integrity of the source data in eachcase.
