2009-03-27 Biology, bulk-uploading

Due to the shortage of people to do work on the intranet faculties as a result of class members leaving, over the days of yesterday and today we have allocated ourselves individual sections of the senior science intranet.

It has been confirmed that these sections will become part of our portfolios.
Yesterday, I was allocated "Biology course information", which was very brief. I therefore decided to help Amy upload the past papers, defining a naming scheme for the HSC past papers, downloading 2002/2003 papers to the school's LAN, and renaming them manually. I also had the opportunity to upload a few categories of past papers (e.g. term 1, term 4).
Today, I am to complete the process of uploading the 2002/2003 past papers, and if I have the time, will also work on the HSC papers from other years.
On a note that is relevant to the Mathematics faculty site as well: Mr. Woo has today showed me that it is possible to upload files in bulk, with a very creative hack / work-around: simply upload the files as images on the page. The files will be rejected by the page content, but will be accepted by the file cabinet. This will be of extreme usefulness in future.
