MuseScore

See attached files. helloworld.mid is my composition and italianoverture is a demo.

Data in italianoverture.mid is displayed in MuseScore as a series of notes on a stave. These notes represent different pitches (wavelengths) and durations (time). However, MIDI uses a series of numbers to encode different notes, each with its own unique pitch and duration.

Processes suited:
  • Transmitting and Recieving as it is a universally accepted file type
  • Storing and Retrieving as the data is already in a numerical form
  • Displaying, eg MuseScore where these numerics can be converted into musical scripts
  • Processing as it is easy to modify the data in a program such as MuseScore
