Hey guise

Last update from Ann.
It feels like so long ago since we got assigned this multimedia hell and I think I've actually gained something from this experience. I think that when this is all over I'm going to miss video editing and essay typing quite a lot.

Okay so what has been happening? Our final projects have all been submitted and this coming Thursday is in fact the day when our essay thing is due to :O
My how the holidays have slipped by.

Truth to be told, I only just remembered to keep this register to date cause I was up schedule feasibility in my report lulz.
Back to typing!

Last note:
I will miss you 'Major Project Register'

Frabjous Day

So i just asked a couple of my friends in IPT to film with me for the intro in my film. Unfortunately they responded negatively and now are all updating their posts in which they are complainining about me taking up their time.
However I have high hopes for them all and hopefully within 15 minutes all will be done.
yesterday during sport I filmed several other people as police men for the intro and the group of bimbo girls who proclaim how cool the tv show is.
If none of this makes sense... It will.... right now I'm just typing up thoughts from my head and none of it might actually make sense. Did i say that before?
Okay a period later:
All is finished filming and all is cool
We're apparently having a ipt celebration now too.
Bye guise

Deserved break from procrastination

So we have a double during this IPT lesson to further work on our Major Project!
In just about two weeks our final project is going to be due along with a 1500 word essay sort of thing that I'll read up on later.
What has happened?
Well some of us got our prototype marks back with feedback and using that I will try to improve the video... I'm actually really reluctant to change the video in any aspects except to add in some subtitles and filter it. And just that won't be enough for the final verson.... so what do I do?
Well I came upon this brainwave as I was shuffling papers that Mr Woo made us organise.
You know how in those marvel films when the introduction is just the intro of all the characters flashing really fast each in their own pose? No? Well watch avengers again >) At least I think it was like that there. So for my video introduction I plan to make it sort of featuring like a mystery video wtih a proper introduction of people actually saying a catchy catchphrase such as 'Who are we, What do we do,-

Thinking Caps..... Activate!

I should get an award for these titles shouldn't I?
So after the science ICAS yesterday, my brain was thrust into motion when Conny darls approached me and asked me for my ideas in my final project.... and how I was going to improve my prototype.... aka additional filming? Filters? Sounds? Music?
Naturally I started to panic. Then I remembered our upcoming insane open book exam. So I broke down in misery and panic. I think I've recovered quite well actually.
So plans?
So last time when i was rendering the SOny Vegas video, it crahsed on me.... repeatedly.... and I really don't want to go through that again. So this current version i'm using is only a trial version... for 30 days. About 10 of those days have gone by. I plan to finish the final product during these 20 days so this week will be a combined study and writing out new additonal ideas and the last week of the free trial will be adding additional clips/sounds as well as just finishing off the subtitles.
And that's all for now I say!

Relaxed bliss

So after a few mishaps involving my video not being able to render on time (which wasn't calculated into the schedule) the prototype is now finished and handed in!
Great job ann, great job indeed :D
So what did the prototype consist of in my project?
It included my 7min and 44 sec prototype video
A long word doc where I listed improvements and analytical studies of the survey feedback.
That's all for now!
I'm going to be taking a breather for now and resigning myself from this assignment temporarily.
Off to study for our next ipt exams! :D

Whirring Neurons

So the prototype is due on Thursday and my brains have been hopping around the place... not literally though. What have I done and what will I do?
Well what I HAVE done is finish my video! :D
What I HAVEN"T is not finish the video D:
That in sense is quite cryptic no? But what I really mean is that the actual video is complete yet the voiceovers and additional music and filters haven't been included.
So all the resources I have are included, yet it's still not ready to be viewed by the public.... which is worrysome due to the fact that I need surveys.... like now D:
So my plan is this:
1. Go home and finish recording all the voiceovers and add them in.
2. Get people to watch and answer the survey Tues+Weds
3. Add everything in for the video and clips all combined.
That just made no sense right?
Well.... IT WILL.

Blossoming Work

I think the more frenzied I get, the weirder my post titles will be named. But hey, I like this one's title :)
Anyway, so technically I'm not meant to be uploading a post right now because 1. It's not on schedule 2. It's class
BUT I JUST HAD A BRAINWAVE. Somewhat like a grainwave, but more amazing. Or actually I had this brainwave last night, just when i was about to fall asleep. Now this idea is still forming but it is based on the website idea I had.
So I was going to make a website. Why? Because I was afraid that my video would be far too confusing and weird. But then i realised a flaw, I suck at websites. Last ipt website I died and imploded into the stratosphere so making a website isn't the smartest choice... considering the fact that the prototypes are just about to be due.
So my only talent is in videos... and I realised. Why can't I be the policeman in the beginning and announce a mysterious case? Like in a police exerpt and the reason why all the characters are the same person is to provide anonymous-ity. (I know there's a word for that... I just don't know how to spell it). So essentially it's a police report of a past unsolved case with hints of supernatural and use of mind-reading devices to find out what the witnesses and suspects were thinking at the time... if any of that made sense.
I'm gonna be a policeman :D

Amazing Joy

So I actually just tried to read through everyone else's posts to see how far along they're going and how much I actually need to catch up on. And i'm terrified.
Part of me is like, 'Oh don't worry Ann, take a nap and all will be fine.'
Another part is going, 'ANN GET A MOVE ON D:'
And the idea of my looming exams isn't really a pleasant addition either.
So here's how it's going. I had a thought where, 'What if my idea doesn't work out? What if I didn't film enough? What if something happens and it doesn't work out in the end? DDDD:'
Also recently Mr Woo slightly changed our prototype marking thingy, we have less work now! :D
Not like that's going to help ):
So here's the plan guise:
1. When I get home I plan to edit so that I'll have at least 5 minutes of complete amazing video
2. Cram for all other subjects
I'm also seriously tossing up the idea of making a website to further clarify the video, but I don't want to bite off more than I can chew so i'll just leave it in the toss-up idea section. It may happen if I have time :)
And that's it for now!

Steps Taken for this Video

posted May 15, 2013, 6:50 PM by Unknown user   [ updated Jun 5, 2013, 5:43 PM ]

So I decided to make a special post for all the steps I've been taking in editing this video becuase it seems like a good idea and I want to make my post count to seven :D
So becuase I've been using the same person for the entire video, I need to make sure taht all my shots don't involve other characters.... because obviously you can't have two of the same person in one shot.
Or can you?
So i reached a stage in my filming where I HAD to have two people in one shot.... but I only had one person in my disposal. So what could I do? :DDDD
Well I employed the use of Adobe after effects and through a process of masking out the characters, I managed to combine two of the videos so I CLONED MY ACTOR YES.
Another addition that I have made is adding a green-screened version of a clock in my room that I filmed. Yes I know that I probably could have gotten a video of that off the internet with better green screen properties... but I wanted to try this too :D
So I have overlapped the video of the clock over the actual video to leave an impression of time passing by (with the additional added youtube clock ticking music)
Subtitles! Those have also been added to provide clarity and to distinguish the names of the characters (who is speaking)
I will be actually continuously updating this as time goes on, this isn't a fixed post :)

Another post delivered

So what has been happening during this blank time where I was in holidays? Well I can bore you with details of how I ate so much and slept till the afternoon.... or I can entertain you with details of what I've accomplished on my video!
Okay so I gave this some thought and I realised I really have to up my video quality and happiness and amazingness becuase some other people are doing BOTH a website AND a video.. whereas I'm just doing a video D;
So as of now I have finished all filming there is and I've edited about half of the video. By edit I mean just adding all the shots together and making sure the sound and voiceovers (which I painfully recorded on my small titchy mike) would all be in sync and actually make sense. After completing this editing stage, there'll hopefully be enough time before the prototype being handed in for me to add in some filters.
Early on I realised that adding the filters as I go is a waste of time as each shot has a different colour layout (how do I say this? :S) due to different filming lighting. So I'll wait till I'm done with everything and then add in the epic background music and filters.
And that's all for now!
