Pok Failed to Last Post

posted Aug 16, 2012, 5:34 PM by Sunny Lu

Well its finally come, the third in the triple of posts! and the day our assignment is due! Well my role was to complete the innovate with technology and hopefully it was enough while steve and pok did most of the design report. i added piuctures to the page and finished a brief outline of our client order history over the first few days. i also edited a little bit in the catalogue and also logged into facebook to help pok with the facebook page he created and didnt tell me. anyways i helped triple the amount of likes and pok made it public. pok added some finishing touches to the website to make it look much more aesthetically appealing. since making it public i've received a lot of feedback about our website and most of it is positive which is awesome!
Anyways, now im just getting ready for the semi-scripted interview and waiting right now.
Can i just say *insert corny music* that this project has been a lot of fun and really provided an insight into how businesses "should" work. and the name Lite n' Pleasy shall be forever remebered >:D

I warned you

I warned you; here's our obligatory triple, I mean double at the moment, post containing sickeningly sentimental comments about how awesome this project was!

On a more serious and less satirical note, we've finished! Finally! And our website actually looks decent! Our respective sections are now finished. Special thanks to my other group members, if I was to make a website by myself I'd be simultaneously blocked by everyone I know for every form of communication, because I'd be asking so many questions that their MSN would like, lag. This was actually quite a good learning experience.

Let me also compliment the project in how it was fun in its own way. It was surprisingly fun for a project, and it was also fun in that it was a group project. I enjoy group projects because I can share my discomfort when a part of the project isn't completely finished and it's the day before (this MAY have happened).

So all in all, this was a fun learning experience. The "Lite n' Pleasy" website, a bad pun that I was only about 90% responsible for, will always be there as a reminder that I, along with classmates, was able to make a website.

This is the Part where.....

This is the part where I say
This is the part where I say we
This is the part where I say we FINALLY FINISHED!!

*victory dance*

So lets go through the criteria:
  • Front page = done
  • About the company = done
  • Employee Listing = done
  • Corporate Blog = done
  • Catalogue = done
  • How we "innovate" with technology = done
  • Design Report = Pretty much done, may need to refine it and such
  • Business Spreadsheet = Pretty much done, currently uploading a more updated version
  • Semi-scripted Interview = Well, gonna do it tomorrow! >:D

So yeah, hope you enjoy marking our webpage Mr Woo! =)

2 more days...

We're this close to finishing. That's pretty close because the word was bolded, underlined, and italicized (that's a word).

So tons happened. Pok completely revamped the website and it looks quite good now. The website theme doesn't look like vomit anymore, so definitely an improvement!

Meanwhile I've been making myself useful by polishing up several areas of our website. I went back and finished Edwin's employee information. I tried to link it in with our corporate blog. It was really random, and Sunny helped add bits here and there to show how Edwin actually does crap in our company, while I had originally portrayed him as a retard.

Following that, I helped rewrite the "About Us". I made sure to add things about how our company was different, in that the employees actually like their job and cooking, and that we are a job that utilises the benefits of technology to the fullest, etc etc.

Onto the company spreadsheet. Pok has completely revamped the look and finished it, taking the ideas that him and I (with help from Sunny, whilst he was doing the Innovate With Technology section) had last time. My thanks to Pok for completely finishing the spreadsheet and making it look like a legit company spreadsheet, which I was completely unable to do.

As of now, the only thing left is the Design Report. I've updated what we've done recently, Pok has also helped by including his experiences too. Another thanks to Pok =). I've started on putting some information processes involved and also started the information technology involved.

At this rate, we should finish. When we do, expect some random triple post from all of us about all the cliche stuff you say when you're done a project.

And now back to work.

6 days left

Well ive gone around the website adding information and pictures to make it look much more appealing.
Pok did a great job with changing up the website template and banner looks totally *insertsarcastictone* unphotoshoppy.
Ive added information to the promotions page where we allow our customers to stay up to date with the latest discounts and membership offers. Ive also added additonal information to our "how we innnovate with technology" section including information about how customers can use fast and secure paypal to pay for our meals online. i've also edited some information on the logo page and catalogue, and added another corporate blog post which i am still yet to finish.

i also added a little extra information about edwin chiu, our latest recruit and truckie after his er..... Coles truckie incident....

Pok is a GREAT person! ;D

So let's see....

WE HAVE FINISHED DA Corporate Blog!  It has 8 posts and is around 2500 words in length.
I decided to redo our business spreadsheet.  Using an excel template, it looks ALOT more professional.  I still need to finish off the sales database though.
I also made a banner for our "Lite n' Pleasy" header.  Looks cool yeah!? XD  You may not notice, but it is a combination of 6 DIFFERENT IMAGES!!!! :DDD  (all combined using the trusty Adobe Photoshop CS5).
I also changed the theme of the website, since alot of people have been saying that it looks like vomit.  I did some customisations to the "Wintermint" theme.
Samuel has looked at my webpage and has said it looks pretty good!   He taught me how to do a drop down menu! =)  U need to indent the page.
Catalogue is pretty much finished after I added some more prettty images. ^.^

That's around it! >:D

One more week...

As I was scrolling through our posts to help me write our design report, I nearly died of laughter when I saw this past post:

Pok: Our assignment is slowly growing into an informative and comprehensive website.

After crawling back on my chair in my oxygen deprived state, I decided to write this post.

One week left. I've finished off the family meals, since we were lacking lunch and dinner options, and added some descriptions of our meals. I updated the corporate blog again, in accordance to our company spreadsheet. The latest post is about "opening up", which corresponds with our spreadsheet.

Speaking of our spreadsheet, Pok and I have did a lot of work on that. It's "slowly growing into an informative and comprehensive spreadsheet", and we're close to finishing that.

We decided to have Sunny do the "How We Innovate With Technology" section. Good luck with that, Sunny. Meanwhile, I've been doing the design report, writing about the entire process of creating the website. After scrolling through our posts to help me remember, I'm done with that, and Pok and Sunny will soon join me in writing about the information processes.

Once we are done with that, all that is left is polishing up our website.

i have made a new post/update on our corporate blog as well as added a few additonal items to our catalogue, our cataloues also needs an improvement on pricing.
steve is working on the business spreadsheet but we arent really sure of what you're meant to really include in it. i hope its specific enough to look like a functioning business.
i will also attempt to start on the design report.

Competing with Lachlan for Posts.

I need to make more posts from now on. I only tend to make them when a lot of stuff has happened.
Pok and I, with help from Sunny, have both started on the business spreadsheet, we have done some items, and currently we are losing like $36,000 dollars.
I have also added a ton of stuff on the "everyday items" page, and also updated the "light meals" section. We are working on the section for desserts, and then our catalogue should be completely done when we're finished the desserts. We should also post some nice-looking photos of our "meals", too.
The design report is coming along (really, really slowly).
I've also worked on the corporate blog, contributing some ideas and posting.
We SHOULD be able to finish.

We have ME!!!

Updated the home page.

I added a background to our logo, so now it fits in with the webpage ^.^
Would prefer it to be transparent though, cause it has a white border! D:

I added a count down gadget to our sidebar.

We have also started creating a business spreadsheet on excel....
